Laundry with Elvio Tintero Grangia

Grangia

I feel like no one would give you shifty eyes if you are drinking Grangia at a laundromat mid-day. Let’s face it… you’re probably the most normal person there right now. And on top of it, this italian wine is made for any-time-of-the-day drinking. Though I might classify this one as another PBO (paper bag optional).

Laundry Wine I

The alcohol is fairly low in this bottle and it is young, fresh, crisp, and slightly effervescent.  Laundry day, you just got a lot more fun.  Though I realize any wine would enhance this experience, because doing laundry is a dumb chore, the right wine makes it stellar.

This grape juice is 50% Favorita, 25% Moscato, %20 Arneis, and %5 Chardonnay

Palm Springs Cocktail

Palm Springs Cocktail

The stars aligned and all of my college room(soul)mates happen to be in the same place for the first time in five years. Of course we jumped at the chance to escape for a weekend together. Three words my friend. PALM SPRINGS BABY. We all jumped in a car and headed to our rented Airbnb home for a weekend of homemade meals, cocktails, and ultimate poolside laying. We concocted a delicious tequila palm springs cocktail on the fly and thought I’d share it here. The perfect drink for catching up with girlfriends by the pool.

What You’ll Need:

Palm Springs Cocktail ingredients

Good tequila blanco

Grapefruit juice

Fresh lime

Roughly chopped cilantro

Thinly sliced Jalapeno (leave the seeds in for an extra kick)

Ice

Place a couple slices of Jalapeno and ice in each glass. Combine 2 parts tequila to 3 parts grapefruit juice per glass. Top off with the chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lime. Bottoms up!

Sunday Brunch with Secco Italian Bubbles

Sunday Brunch with Secco Italian Bubbles

I admit it. Sometimes I’m a label whore. I was instantly drawn to this bottle because the label looked so festive, and let’s be honest, just damn cute. Lucky for us, this blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Raboso Piave with the name Secco Italian Bubbles is light, dry and perfect for Sunday brunch. Subtle flavors packed into tiny bubbles makes for a likeable sparkling wine that works on its own, or with a splash of fresh squeezed citrus.

In a collaboration with Charles Smith, this is made by winemakers Ginevra and Olivia Casa. From Rome, these lovely ladies always had a love for sparkles and created their own winery. The grapes come from an area called Veneto, in Northeast Italy. Veneto is known for its easy drinking, sparkling wine.

Sunday Brunch

I brought this bottle of bubbly over to my friend Lewis’ place in Silverlake. His home is notoriously known as the “bungaLew” where he used to run a supper club. This bottle quickly disappeared, along with Lewis’ delicious chicken and potatoes.
